Sechuan Garden restaurant leased space in a hotel just off the main lobby. The restaurant fell behind in its payments to the hotel, and filed for bankruptcy. The hotel manager posted the following sign in the hotel lobby close to the entrance to the restaurant.
PLEASE DON’T PATRONIZE THE SECHUAN GARDEN
THE RESTAURANT IS UNFAIR TO MANAGEMENT
IT DOES NOT PAY IT’S BILLS
The restaurant’s revenues dropped about $1000 a week for the next three weeks. Then the hotel management removed the sign. Do you see any legal problems for the hotel?
